What the Ancestors KnewThe Great Year 2 (2001)
Previously I explored the 26,000 year cycle known as the Great Year, which brings affairs on earth to periodic states of crisis and transformation. I suggested this information was known to our ancestors, who left us messages as to the implications of these cycles, and suggestions to meet the crisis when it occurs. I cited the universal mythology of the Great Flood as belonging to a period of alignment similar to our own at the opposite end of the Great Year. Could the ancestors have understood and predicted our present circumstance as long as 13,000 years ago? It is generally recognized that Egyptians and
'Chaldeans' (Sumero-Babylonians) used essentially the
same Zodiac we are familiar with today. When we speak
of 'change of ages' - presently from Pisces to
Aquarius - we are referring to 2100+ year periods, or
'months', of the Great Year. For instance, when we
talk of fish as a symbol of Christianity, or apostles
as 'fishers of men', we are referring to the Age of
Pisces, symbolized by fish. When the Bible tells us
that some 2,000+ years earlier Abraham, at the behest
of God, sacrificed a ram instead of his son, we are
dealing with a story depicting the end of the Age of
Aries, the Ram. In a still earlier period of time,
retained in Sumerian writings, we find frequent
reference to the 'Bull of Heaven' - symbol of the Age
of Taurus, the Bull:
Prior to the Age of Taurus we have no reliable written records; our oldest historians, poets and scribes are citing stories which lay in their own remote pasts. However, that does not mean we do not have records. One outstanding record of the ancestors, written in stone with unmistakable reference to the Zodiac and the Great Year, is the Sphinx. The Sphinx, like the Giza pyramids, is traditionally assigned an ancestry of approximately 4500 years. However, the pattern of weathering exhibited by the sphinx is inconsistent with wind erosion. As has been recently established, erosion patterns on the sphinx could only have been caused by water - and not by water flowing along the ground, but water coming from above. Rains. Massive rains. The climatological record of Egypt and the Sahara
does establish that there was a period of massive
annual rainfall - at least 7 to 8 thousand years ago.
Thus the Sphinx must be at least that old. But the
'riddle of the sphinx' is actually an obvious one,
apparent in its form: body of a lion, head of a man.
'Lion' and 'Man' are symbols of two opposite Zodiacal
Ages: Leo and Aquarius, the 'New Age' of 13,000 years
ago, and that of the present. The Sphinx faces east:
drawing a line straight through the length of the body
and out between the paws, we are able to calculate the
date when the Vernal (spring) equinox sun would rise
on that line. That date takes us back the requisite
13,000 years. The Sphinx records the dawning of the
Age of Leo. The ancestors who carved the Sphinx were
clearly saying 'pay attention'. But, to what?
It's impossible to visit the Sphinx without having our attention directed to the Great Pyramid. Recently, some clever individuals tried taking a new look at the pyramids, from the perspective suggested by the preceeding quote. They found something quite remarkable: that what had been 'transferred down to earth' was not simply a metaphor, but a concrete exercise in spiritual geometry. What in fact had been brought to earth was the entire constellation of Orion - with the three belt stars being represented as the three Giza pyramids, while other pyramids to the north and south completed the representation of the star system of Orion, and the Nile River playing the part of the Milky Way. Someone had also noticed that the Great Pyramid had been built at the precise crossing of the world's longest land meridian (N/S) and longest land parallel (E/W). The amount of information coded into the Great Pyramid is quite staggering. As one example, the sum of the four base diagonals measured in pyramid inches is 25,826 - representing the precise total in years of the Great Year, or Processional Cycle. Overall, the Great Pyramid is an encyclopedic account in mathematical language of the dimensions, proper motions and positions in space of the earth as a whole. All of which poses some obvious questions: Who, thousands or even tens of thousands of years ago, could have possessed this kind of knowledge? And, in recording the record in stone, who was meant to read it, if not us? And, finally, the third question we must pose to ourselves: What do we do with the information? Returning to the present, I resume writing this piece on the morning of Nov. 13, another huge 'news day': A plane crashes on Long Island. The Northern Alliance enters Kabul. Bush and Putin meet to reduce nuclear arms. Colin Powell confers with the Foreign Minister of Iran on a future government for Afghanistan. For now let's take a closer peek at the plane crash, presently being portrayed as most likely an accident. The plane fell into a narrow strip of land called the Rockaways, just across the water from Kennedy Airport, and home to many New York firefighters - a community still in shock from last month. On a television news show last evening a resident of the town was interviewed. Since September 11, he told the cameras, he had not been able to hear a plane go overhead without wondering when the next one was going to come crashing down. And now it had. On his town. Coincidence? Intentional terrorist act? Or could the ongoing fear of local residents somehow have influenced what happened to that plane? In the previous message I quoted a prophecy pointing
to our times as apocalyptic. A friend of mine wrote
that he had visited the small museum in England
dedicated to Mother Shipton and her visions. A record
was preserved of the many prophecies in which she had
been correct. She had also predicted the 'end of the
world' for 1991. But - we're still here. Just luck?
Or have we in fact been listening to 'the message of
the ancestors?'
How do we become 'victorious over our fate?'
